UNESCO World Heritage

Castles, wine and
long paths

Bad Salzig is the perfect starting point for trips through the entire Middle Rhine Valley — on foot, by bike, by boat or by train. From here you can quickly reach both the big sights and the quiet vistas.

Middle Rhine Valley

The valley of castles
and the Lorelei

Since 2002, the Upper Middle Rhine Valley has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site — and for good reason.

Along 65 kilometers between Bingen/Rüdesheim and Koblenz, castles, vineyards, cliffs and half-timbered towns line up like pearls on a string. Bad Salzig is right in the middle — with the advantage that the biggest tourist crowds pass around it. You have World Heritage on your doorstep, without having to squeeze through the masses.
